Dr. Berman received his Ph.D. in School Psychology from Indiana University in 1980, following an internship in child psychology from The Hathaway Home for Children, Pacoima, CA, approved by the American Psychological Association (APA). He completed a master’s degree in clinical psychology in 1974 from Oakland University, Rochester, MI, and his bachelor’s degree in psychology in 1972 from Wayne State University, Detroit, MI. In addition to providing a wide range of assessment and psychotherapy services for over 30 years and teaching at the undergraduate, graduate, post graduate and medical school levels, Dr. Berman has extensive experience in serving Oklahoma courts throughout the state.

As a child custody evaluator, Dr. Berman has evaluated over 500 families. He has also been recognized as an expert by his peers, having been invited to speak at national, state and local conferences of professional associations.

As a mediator, Dr. Berman has not only assisted couples in the process of divorce reach settlement on parenting plans and property division, but also conducted mediation training seminars approved by the Oklahoma Bar Association (OBA).

As a Parenting Coordinator, Dr. Berman has been appointed by Oklahoma Courts in approximately 100 cases since passage of the Parenting Coordinator Act in 2001. In addition, he has been an invited speaker on this topic at two recent national conferences.
